Tried to trade an intraday consolidation breakout over 18.10$
When the .10s traded and the tape kept going, I hit the .10s as well instead of waiting for the break, so I was lucky that it came back after a retest of 18.05$
Breakout had no volume (~ 9k shares) so I scratched it.
Mistake: the daily showed little relative volume on a huge gap like this. If I had realised that, I wouldn't have taken the trade.

Hi there, I realized that as soon as I closed the trade. Look at the volume on the earnings gap vs. volume of today. There was so much flying at me and I missed so many entries today, that i just wanted to have a trade. Didn't do my due diligence on this one. But now at least I know the meaning of overextended :)

Issue with this was that it was already overextended and had made another leg up after 2 pm. The odds of another one were slim.
