Earnings came out today it was up 12%, we waited for the stock to get on an uptrend and got in. small size and was trying to scale in in order to have minimal risk. We got in at 6.64 and then it started up trending but got stuffed on the 6.70 the high was 6.78. the sweep candle started appearing in the 6.68 and didn’t budge any more kept on lowering the stock. On each uptrend, the stock got sold into so it didn’t run. We scaled in on the downtrend to 1240 shares at an average of 6.57. the sweep candle came in and dropped the stock all the way down to 6.40 then ramped it up, it seems very heavy and we got out at the break of 6.50. Loss of $90
Mistakes:
1. Trading midday
2. Adding to losers
3. Not following the indicators and adding where you are not supposed to because you want to get your average down.
4. Believing that vwap is a good support
Goods:
1. Following plan
2. Cutting losses quickly
3. Not letting the stock get
How to get better:
1. We need to wait for the stock to confirm that it's an earnings winner, wait until the afternoon session, so we get a better entry. Midday we get a lot of fadeouts.
2. Don’t try to anticipate the moves
Follow the stock and believe in the price action.
