Make Money/Preserve Capital

This is an epic trade, that did not happen to plan – and is the most amount of money I have ever left on the table!

The stock moved up in premarket trading as I always tend to look for – and then I waited for it to dip down and retrace once the cash market opened. They had good news on a new leukemia treatment – and the market was extremely excited about it.

I waited for the stock to retrace, but it only retraced about $0.50 and then started going up. I let it go up one more dollar – and then I got in at $19.46 fully expecting a dip down but there was a lot of momentum. I first took a $0.30 move and got out – as the retracement started. The retracement didn't really happen – and the stock went up around $2.00, then I got back in with 2000 shares due to the volatility. The stock was moving with a lot of volatility which I don't tend to like – at the spreads were going from $0.05-$0.20.

Once I was in, I rode the stock about $0.60 – made my initial target. I got out and moved on to another trade.

Little did I know, that the stock would then proceed to go up $52 from that point… I had 3000 shares. Do the math! This was not crumbs left on the table, but big gold nuggets! I know I never would've stayed in for the whole ride, but definitely would've taken at least five figures in profit.This is exactly why I don't keep sharp implements in my office, as I definitely would've committed seppuku having missed out on $150,000 profit – In less than two hours!

I guess I'll know the next time this happens. I made my money, but could've been so much more!
