Kinda ok trade due to fear creeping in and being unaware of the lack of shares to short at my broker
Ok, I got into this trade short and looked up at my position tracker to see that I had not been able to enter the trade ( at least that is what I discovered later when I was sent an email from IB). The broker did not have any shares to short at the time which should have precluded me from placing the trade. This has driven me to check in the DAS platform before placing the trade whether or not the stock is short-able on my behalf. This is not to say that the stock will not go short, its simply to say that my broker has not provided me with the opportunity to make the trade. This was a great revelation for me and I will continue to harness this information throughout my trading career.
After viewing the trade with the 9 turned on and identifying and marking the daily chart it was identified that the trade did have room to work down to its next major area of simply but was simply bought back up. This stock simply went long then short and was kept in an area of consolidation until it decided to move on at the end of the day.
