On the first trade, I am not sure what I was playing for other than a quick reversal at the open. It’s not a good trade. There is no edge here. I will have to say that the first thing I thought pre market was to short this. I explained in my journal that I let a pundit get the better of me.
On the second leg of this trade, I again tried to get a round number reversal on a small lot with a feeler. The tape and the trade turned green for a bit. I did not have any other entry criteria other than some overnight volume. I did plan on putting more risk on at 139.00 but couldn’t play it through. I did have opportunities to put on some size but I did not want to get farther back in the trade as I was committed to keeping my losses small. I could have committed to the second dip as soon as it broke the morning trend a little after the reversal. This would have made this a very profitable trade or better yet the original long. There was a short period of time that this was a slightly profitable trade. But, after holding through the bottom, I got my risk back to a small loss and waited for a strong close. That fell apart about an hour or so before the close. I took the trade off at VWAP.
