Intraday fundamentals
Earnings beat this morning had this stock trading up 3.5% pre- market. The ceo talked about how strong they felt about their position heading into the second half of 2019. But, they did not raise guidance. So, there was no fundamental change in their business.
The Market, as a whole, did not provide much direction pre-market and ended starting out real weak. It seems to be in a bit of holding pattern with some short term profit taking ahead of g-20 and the Trump/Xi trade talks.
Reading the tape
I did see what appeared to be strength around 52.20 as the stock recovered from the early profit taking.
I had this level set as a level (52.10)to watch pre-market due to some overnight action and near yesterday’s high. I took the trade off a long wick bounce off of 52.19.

Trade Management
I took the trade on a retest of 52.18 after the candle formed a long wick with some slightly higher than the previous two down candles. The stock did a quick retest of 52.19 before moving in my favor. This would have been a better point about on the low volume red candle a couple minutes later for 5 or 6 cents better entry with the thesis for a move to 53.
I moved my stop to break even as soon as the trade hit .16 or matched my risk and then to a small profit after 52.60. The tape and the price action led me to believe that I should move my stop closer as it was starting to feel like it wanted to retest vwap which seems to be a probability when Vwap is broken without a lot of momentum.
My overall thesis on this stock today was on the wrong side. But, I feel like I managed to get one of three possible long scalps on this stock today.
