Intraday Fundamentals
• Kellogg Co. (K) shares rose 3.2% in Tuesday premarket trading after the food company reported third-quarter earnings and sales that beat expectations. Net income totaled $247 million , or 72 cents per share, down from $380 million , or $ 1.09 per share, last year. Adjusted EPS was $1.03 , ahead of the 91-cent FactSet consensus. Sales of $3.37 billion were down from $3.47 billion last year, but ahead of the $3.35 billion FactSet outlook. The earnings decline was due to pension withdrawal liabilities. And the declines in adjusted EPS and sales were owing to the divestiture of the cookie, fruit snack, pie crust and ice cream cone businesses. "Our reshaped portfolio is doing what it is intended to do, focusing on our higher growth categories and markets," said Chief Executive Steve Cahillane in a statement. "And, as we move past our heaviest investments and costs, we are on track for delivering gradual improvement in profitability." Kellogg's brands include Pringles, Cheez-It and Pop-Tarts. Kellogg shares are up 7.1% for the year to date, but down 13.1% over the last year. The S&P 500 index is up 21.2% for 2019 so far.

Trading Strategy
• Long Bias
• Look for an opening drive to 64 play small
• Find place to take this long, if not on the opening midday when it pulls back in or after it has 50% gap filled
Reading the Tape

I took this on the run of the first trade pure momentum. So I did not read the tape other than to get a gauge of the spread. The later trades I am always watching the tape once I see something on the chart. I watch the tape to find what I think the tightest risk by looking for any point that seems to have more depth than others within the few cents that I want to play. This is becoming something I do on most trades over setting my risk off the chart.
Trade Management

Trade Review
• Solid scalp off the flush, not quite where I thought it would get.
• It gave me essentially the same setup of few minutes later.. I needed to take that one as well.
• I managed the risk on the anticipate break of 64 well enough to get a small win to the P&L
• The last trade and tape read were solid . I could have kept a small position to work into the close as it was getting late in the day. I moved back to something trading in a wider range and closed out the small lot that I had left to save mental bandwidth.
