Markets with a higher open from futures overnight near ATH. CGC had licensing news for a beverage facility. Pre-market volume was slightly higher at around 7% ~500k shares traded. It traded within a defined range in the pre-market and I used that to base my risk off my trades in the AM session. I put on a feeler trade for an opening drive while watching the tape. The tape gave me clues as how strong or weak the buying or selling was here. I also traded short scaling up in size when the move did not hold below the pre-market lows. I was able to risk less with more size here seeing the tight price action and between intraday and 2 day vwap. The tape also showed an indication of the direction of the move at the level before it broke here as well. The bids were hit and the price walked down to the pre-market lows. Right before the level broke the time & sales showed heavy and fast selling. The level broke and there was a fast follow through towards the next level where I covered my scalp.

Trade Management/Trade Review
Key take away here was knowing the news or catalyst, identifying the pre-market levels and how shorter-term participants are positioned, and what the price action + tape reveals. Seeing the pre-market volume was also a heads up as well but the stock was already in play after coming of a 50% bounce in a short period of time. SPY tick and price action was uncorrelated in this move. CGC showed relative weakness compared to SPY.
