• arget Corporation (NYSE:TGT) shares were trading lower Wednesday after the retailer reported holiday sales that failed to meet expectations.
• Comparable sales in the combined November and December period grew 1.4% versus 5.7% growth in the same period last year.
• Comparable digital sales grew 19% in the November and December period, driven primarily by the company’s same-day fulfillment services, which together grew more than 50% from the comparable period last year, according to Target.
• Target maintained its previous guidance for fourth-quarter earnings per share of $1.54-$1.74 against a $1.70 estimate and fiscal year 2019 adjusted EPS guidance of $6.25-$6.45.
• “We faced challenges throughout November and December in key seasonal merchandise categories and our holiday sales did not meet our expectations,” CEO Brian Cornell said in a statement.
• “However, because of the durability of our business model, we are maintaining our guidance for our fourth quarter earnings per share. We also remain on track to deliver historically strong full-year results in 2019, including comparable sales growth of more than 3% and record-high EPS reflecting mid-teens growth compared with last year.”

• Target shares were trading down 7.87% at $115.40 at the time of publication during Wednesday’s premarket session. The stock has a 52-week high of $130.24 and a 52-week low of $67.17

I saw the quick tap of the LoD . It seem a highly likely that it would not spend time under 115.63 again with the way the tape bounce back and held above where had stalled before the flush to the LoD. I was not too in tune with this as I was

Trade notes
• I only took this long on a momentum scalp on the morning and it hit target, I decided to let a little stay on and got pulled away. When I came back I had given most of the trade up and started to add little bit looking. I got a little heavier on the adds as it came into 116. I had a chance to clear at a small loss but decided to try and hold. As I thought I could pick up again at 116 and get the trade to start working. I ended taking a few adds and taking off here and there slowly lower my average. I tried to get big off 116 as it had been holding and got flush. I did manage to add in just off the bottom and got myself to even and bailed on most of the position. I did manage to turn this positive but a hold for a few more minutes would have netted another 40 cents on my largest position. ( cannot trade this way)
• I had another nice set up later in the day off .75 with and average price at. 85. I need to hold this trade
• I am not sure why I thought the test of VWAP on Increasing higher pivots was a good idea. I gave up way to much here trying to get a breakdown to 116. But, I did flip for a strong long off VWAP on size to finish out a tough run on this.
