Reading the Tape

There were a couple of times here where the tape told me to enter a trade. But, most of the day, the movement did not reveal much and looked pretty even most of the way down especially.

• I started of trying to take a small quick scalp off 37 and added up 37.50 feeling like I would get a quick pull in. I added small bits at every level it stalled all the way into 38.40. This first HoD allowed me to clear the add I took at 38.40 ish. I did start to add back in looking for a test of 39 before expecting a pull back. The tape did get weak and as the price came back into 38.25 I double what I had and took about 80% off just above 38 closing out the short 37.85ish. I followed this with a short off 38.20 again on smaller size and held it back into 37.80.
• I did start to look for this long over 38 got tapped on tight risk flipped and got tapped again. I did manage to start working this long back to 38.50. But, the trade management through these left a lot on the table. Between hesitation and not holding the original long off 38 hurt the overall profit here.
• I did start looking for shorts and 38.76 held on the tape a couple times. I ended up flat on this series. However, I was just off the top here and did not manage the trade well again. Which I followed with a long for a quick hit. I was just convinced that this was going to hit 39 again before the momentum got tired and traded to apprehensively.
