RVOL - 391.32
AVOL - 315.37k

Shs Float - 3.84M

Market Cap - 120.39M

Market was opening lower but SPY still proximate to ATH's. Coronavirus situation seems to be stabilizing.

Market bought into pre-market resistance breaking 4.00 at the opening bell. This ended up being a failed breakout. There was some delay and slippage and got filled on the wick high. I instantly noticed I put on a position that was double the intended size. Still kept my position and used existing exit strategy. I was thinking of trimming my size which I should have done right away to minimize risk. This was a failed breakout. Volume was there in the first minute of the open which works more often then not. This is also a low float stock, however RVOL is notably higher. I was also using XBI and TICK/ADD which was showing strength at the open. Since the stock is moving with higher relative volume it can break correlation. In this case it was opposite and to the downside. Tape reading wise I was looking for buyers to step the bids up, which I thought it looked good into the open. Still need a lot of work here as well.

Need to work on managing risks tighter and actively adjusting position on the fly. I'd take this trade 900/1000 times but I need to manage risk better by executing at better prices + correct sizes.

I bought this too and thought it was a decent trade. I came to the upside but I could have just as easily been negative too. Everything was there except the pre-market dip was a little cautious tale. It's still worthy of taking. Ive been using pre-loaded stop losses that help me feel at least semi-assured that i'll be out at some semi-defined loss. Better luck for you today.

Thank you for your insights and feedback ! I didn't see that pre-market pull-in as a precaution. Will keep more of an open mind in the future. Also will work on the automated stops on my platform. Been just using pre-defined levels and manual executions. On slower moving trades I do have these in place.

Hey, I'm no expert. I lost 1,100(ish) today. I was having think or swim issues again. But tomorrow is a new day. If you are using TOS platform there is a place if found where you can set up trails-stops or just a hard stop. You can also do a R1/R2/R3 meaning you can predetermine you say... 1.00/1.00, your 1.00 to 2.00 or your 1.00 to 3.00 win/loss ratios.
Anyway, good luck to us both. ;-)

Will also keep that in mind and implement a progressive adjustment moving forward. Good luck !
