Trading Strategy
• Look for this to follow the sell off at the open, watch 173.60 and look for a big buyer if you can see it at the open
• Consider the scalp long of this level at the open to try and run to 175
• Short 176 if the this grinds higher and starts to fail as it tests this level
• Short a gap close at 178 with a little room so stay small
Reading the Tape
There were a couple of trades that I took in the morning on stalled momentum on the level 2.
Trade Management
Trade Notes
• I wanted to take this long this morning if it flushed into 173.50. As I watched it pull away, i decided to short as it started to fail just above 176 and again later as is started to fail at 178. I did have a game plan to short off 178 as I felt it was gap close. However, i found the right spots and executed with brackets that would have made this more profitable if I did not step down in size.
• The first trade was here and apparently i was not sticking with the 2 for 1 set up at this point. I believe that I needed limit into this at or just above 178 giving me down to 177.75. this shows I am still going to need to work on ways to let trades work and get into them when the rvr should be quicker or move into the positive side of the bracket with strength.
• I started playing off a lower high in anticipation that 178.50 was going to hold. I was flipping back and forth to often at 178 at this time and I am starting to over trade and on emotion.
• I was sized to take on way more risk on the first trade and woul dahve been able to take the 2 for on the first trade with out locking in a loss.
• I was getting myself in a mode where i was shorting the dips and longing the peaks. I had lost rationality here and needed to walk away.
• I can only say that at least I set this and forgot it until it was unable to meet the target the first run up. But I was able to take the trade off the table before it would have tapped me out for the day. I was able to get out with a profit and then come back off 176 a couple of times.
