  • Details:
Intraday HOD break, 1000 shares. Buy at $3.30 with a mental stop of 5-10 cents. This could have been better as there was actually a pre-emptive entry around $3.10-$3.15 but buying at $3.30 gave me confirmation. The official break of the HOD was at $3.28. I also noted this as a scalp since the stock had already made a huge move, was very volatile and I planned on executing very quickly (less than 10 minutes).

  • Update 7/22/12: This was a huuuuuuuuge CHASE! after trading more and making this exact mistake multiple times and losing money on it I wanted to point out that the entry at $3.10 was not "preemptive" but was the actual lowest risk entry. I should have bought there and added when it broke the HOD as the volume and every indicator said it was a go. I could have banked a lot more on this trade for much lower risk.
