  • Details:
Earnings play, 300 shares. I bought this after a trading buddy mentioned it to me. It was an earnings play (they had released good numbers that morning) and also was breaking a resistance level it had tapped multiple times on the daily ($13.00). The stock tried to run above $13 but failed. I should have sold it quickly when it failed at $13.10 however this was not a bad trade. Just a failed breakout. Risk to reward was good, position size was manageable, setup was there on multiple timeframes, it just wasn't ready. I suspect this had something to do with the fact that the market was also choppy and the stock had already gapped up over 10%. I think the only thing I could have done to make this trade better was get out of it sooner after it failed to break out The other person who traded this with me did so and only took a 6 cent loss instead of a 20 cent loss like me.
