was there any indicator to go short here. I thought it was a long set up but failed. I left my computer with no stop in place and the bottom fell out... I thought it was catching a bounce for a long set-up.

This is a tricky entry I find often that when a stock gets up and fades that whole gapped the first candle all the bounces tend to get shorted that first candle is very ugly. Also if you notice where you bought the stock it had actually been grinding higher and higher for the last five candles before that so it was not coiled if anything it was just cat bounce
