thanks Cavalier - great trade by you as well. For this trade my entry was triggered by volume and extension on the 5min chart. Firstly, the candle and volume on daily chart were abnormally large w/ no real catalyst. On the 5min chart, volume on 11:05 candle was biggest of day and then it was far exceeded by 11:10 candle - thats telling me a climax is close. In terms of extension, it went from $11.35 to above $13 in less than 15mins and was extended from the EMAs. A great short signal was given on 1min chart at 11:14 with highest volume candle and and inverse hammer reversal bar. I dont think your entries are bad at all, esp if you have longer timeframe. I think i covered a little early but wanted to take some profit into $12 level which was previous resistance on 5min chart. I def coulda held some or re-entered on the lower high at 11:50

thanks for the detailed explaination, thats really useful. I got in at 11:19 when saw volume was around 200k for the minute. Looked to me like a bearish engulfing on both the 1 & 5 min so go in risking highs of that candle. added (not particularly well) when that $12 couldnt hold. Got spooked at $11.40 so took some off on that pop. Really should have added risking again off $12. Still fairly new to trading though so still playing small whilst im learning lvl2/vol/price action. Thanks again though, really insightful. Seeing that inverse hammer with the volume, looking at it now its so obvious, such a great entry. solid work. so were you in at sort of $12.75 risking off of $13.00 target $12, then see how PA plays out for an extra 50-75 cents?
Essentially yes - $12 was first target and then let price action dictate what to do rest. Typically i like to cover flushes which allows me to reshort pops into key levels/areas

mate.. hell of a trade for you. well done. Can i ask how you timed your entry, was it tape/ volume? i entered pretty much as you started to cover, risking off 12.50's. good result for me but obviously missed the meat of the move.
