Summary

Another atomic bomb dropped on my trading account by me, and on a trade I should have never taken in the first place. What started out as an innocent scalp, ended up being a major winner, and the trade that led to me going on tilt. My daily stop loss of $500 would have saved me here, but of course I disabled it in the heat of the moment.

Just another reminder of why I don't take non-playbook trades, and why it literally doesn't make mathematical sense for me to take these random scalp trades. They are a waste of time, and capital, and only distract me from focusing on setups that have the potential to make me real money.

I went ahead and swung this position over night as I do think it'll bounce given how oversold it is, but I could be totally wrong, and this worse could be much worse. I'll give it a couple days, and if it doesn't turn around, will sell into whatever ramp I can get. Trying very hard not to panic and sell at the bottom before it reverses.

At E-Trade this had no margin (thankfully), and so my position is all cash, which is good. However, bad news is that my buying power is fully tied up. Will use this time out to improve my playbook, and get some education in.

While this loss may end up hurting, let it be a lesson as to why you don't take random/non-playbook trades.
