Dangerous short which started from an order I didn't cancel that got filled on a huge swipe up. Volume on the stock was dying from the prior HOD and had a small risk above a key level of around 24.50.

I felt that the breakdown was likely to occur, but had the small limit order just in case it surged to a high just under the previous ones that had been hitting, and when the price swiped up two dollars in an instant, I realized I was kind of stuck and tried to see if I could use it as an instance to size up near a top. I'm not comfortable doing that, however, and decided against it, and it's something I'm still working towards. Even if the possible yield was definitely there, I am not yet at the level.

I originally set risk with such a small entry to the prior day's high, but felt that was extending too high and decided to shrink it down to 24.30, which got hit out pretty easily on the crawl up to 24.35. No reason to be upset that it stopped out, I legitimately didn't have time to watch the stock any more and had considered exiting earlier anyway. Sizing up at the top would have yielded a substantially more favorable position (was in 10/100), but this move was too dangerous to add into considering that even at the best possible scenario, my risk would have equated to 1.5% my equity, and my general rule is to not extend past 1%.

Took the relatively small loss and made plenty of note about it. Gave me some ideas for next week.
