Idea, Entry, and Risk:

*Idea: Failed Follow Through
*Entry: Planned around 17.40s/20s, hit on pop
*Risk: 1:2.5

Catalyst and News:

No news today, but positive Covid Test results on Monday resulted in the run up.

Fundamentals:

-29M net income, high insider transfership

Technicals:

Expected drop off after big sympathy run under SSR, especially after a most-day fade yesterday.
Broke down through channel between 17.60s and 16.80s.

Summation:

Hesitated at an intended 17.40 entry point as one of the last pops before it finally broke down. Re-entered after the first break down into the channel underneath, hesitated again but took the entry at market, hit 16.657 as it broke down.
Kept trying to size as it went down further, but ended up sizing mostly after the trend had reversed and gave the little gains I made back, trying to get up while ignoring the trend change.
Set stop as it was reversing and I expected it to break down through the channel again, but had to step away from the desk.
Misevaluated the risk level and got stopped out at around 1.6R.

Takeaways:

Worst live loss thus far. Taking a major step back and evaluating how I approach.
-Follow the setup and worry less about sizing for now. I need to go back over my paper history and I believe that sizing has been a difficult caveat for me.
-Set R:R, set the limit, watch it if it goes sour but don't focus too heavily on sizing in.
-Trade smaller. Worry less about profit and more about the right trade. Don't need to use all the shares I borrow just because they're in increments of 100.
-Don't be afraid to take the entry just because the market is wild. The setup was perfect but I hesitated because I've seen so many things reverse and squeeze out while not fully understanding the tape yet.
-Trends seem to occur at 9:45am, 10am, 12pm, and 3pm. Going to need to backtest to see if these observations hold true.
-Get over the fear of the morning moves. after 9:45 am, a lot of the emotion has calmed down. Be ready.
