Missed the break-out of ATHs=$59 yesterday and man, I was pissed...
Had an alert at $59.5s in case of any pullback towards the previous ATH the following days.
Well, what a market gift and so soon. That was unexpected.
AMD sold-off from $62 all the way to $59 along with overall market.
Going "long" frontside weakness w/o a plan+pattern is for suckerszz and by now I have learned my lesson.
Technical Reversal on the 15min chart + wait for the flush below support
-- Got long tiny size (less than filler) in-front of $59 support just to engage, risking wide stop=1% of price=$58.4s, in anticipation of a reversal bar on the 15min chart.
-- 15min bar closed as a hammer, but no further adds until 9+20EMA@1min chart cross each other. That didn't happen so I waited more.
-- Got back to $59, held for a 2nd time, so added again tiny size, risking same stop.
-- Finally, flushed below support = stop-long run of the ones that got big in-front of support risking tight stop below a.k.a suckerszz
-- Added size on 1min reversal bar, that ended up as a hammer on the 5+15min timeframes.
-- Missed the add when EMAs@1min chart crossed, and AMD reclaimed $59 support
Took profits at $59.6s, held overnight with stop at LOD=$58.6.
And then news about INTC 7-nanometer chip process delay hit tape, and AMD exploded post-market at $64.5s (which obvioulsy was the catalyst for the move yesterday known to only a selected few...)
Took some off at $62. $63.5 and $64.5s.
Still holding about 30% of position...
Proud for this trade.
Thesis+patience+execution=big gains!!
(-) Bad miss the Resist. Lvl Break-out trade above R1=premarket high=$64.7. Great bull-flag (Indy-long) on the 15min chart for +$4/share.
Took some $67 and $70.
Still holding about 20% of original position, will hold through earnings.
Took some in-front of $75 after another +11% gap-up due to earnings. Moved stop to $67.
Update 08/25/2020

Update 09/03/2020
