Thanks Brent. The initial entry was from seeing each little pop/rally attempt get stuffed and smothered by sellers. You can see them on the 1min chart above. The next entry was a short signal, where the $35 support level broke.

Hi Dmitrij, i believe you are referring to the 14:34 1min candle. That candle does look a little threatening for shorts but on a very micro level. For me, i was playing a setup on the 5min chart so I'm looking bigger picture. Plus i had just covered over 1/3rd of my short into and just below $33 level, which was the previous day close so you cant be surprised by some kinda bounce off that level. In fact, with my cover i'm now offering back into $35-$35.50 to add back a small piece of that short. My trade really wouldnt be invalidated until $36 or $37 was remounted. I think for me, a higher high on the 1min would be $35.79.
Does that help? 7/29 was obviously a blow-off top black swan event. On the 5min chart, 7/30 was an all day trend down day so I'm trying to let my short work, esp after a 2-3 hr consolidation.

Of course. Thanks for the question. It helps to get challenged and a lot of times questions I get on here open my eyes to something I may have missed. I hope some of the trades I post help people learn things but it is also beneficial to me so dont hesitate to ask anything.

i base most of my trades on 5min chart setups and use the 1min for entry/exit when the 5min dictates. I think you would benefit from a 5min chart, esp when trying to catch meat of moves/trends.
