This was my worst trade ever. It actually was a series of horrible decisions and mistakes. The only good thing is that it was a wake up call to discipline.
Started out with a position too large. That caused me to have too tight stops.
That led to the first loss where I should have just walked away, but the loss was too large, so I went in the reverse. It went against me. Same problems. Stop too tight, position too large...kept moving stop. So then I reversed it again. Same thing. Lose lose lose.
Finally I was like, I'm done and I'm out. I went to bed and checked my account...I couldn't believe I could lose this much this fast. Well, another position was open and I was losing again. Instead of getting out, I was determined I wasn't going to lose because of that mistakes. We all know what happened, the loss got larger and larger until it became unbearable and I got out, curled up in the fetal and went to bed.
Looking back, this was the turning point in my trading career. After this I was determined to have a plan and follow it. I've screwed up a few times since, but have been consistently profitable by sticking as best I can to my trading plan.
