Captured 102% out of this 400%+ gainer! I took this entry without hesitation. The EV related

news
was extremely attractive and I felt the retail crowd would be eager to trade. All three conditions for a potential runner was met: news, low float and relative volume.

Penny stocks have been running cold lately, which makes this 300%+ gainer special. I'll take another entry, if it can cross above $5.

UPDATE - Not more than an hour after I closed the trade, SPI broke above $5.00 resistance and gained another 833%!!! Talk about leaving money on the table... SMH. I'm sure no sane person would have seriously thought this would rise 4000% during the day, but it happens and it reminded me that I have to allow myself the ability to capture more profit in these rare occurrences. Whether it's taking half the profit and letting the other half ride it out or letting the whole position ride and hope it doesn't turn into a scratch trade, I must make a special accommodation for these potential explosive gainers.

I'm a profitable day trader by having a risk-reward system that allows me to consistently take profit, but all risk/reward systems should be flexible enough to capture as much profit as possible when stocks like these arise. I had to make a decision, either before or early in the trade, that this is a stock I want to ride all the way through and see how high it goes (based on much higher level of resistance). Unfortunately, I didn't make such a decision in this trade and I'd treated this as if it was a regular day trade.
