Very Active on TWTR executions today. I usually don't execute this many orders. I'm glad that I'm improving with putting on risk when an opportunity arises, this has always been a weakness of mine. I think the cause for the recent change is setting orders and letting the price action come to my bid, instead of waiting for price to get where I want it to, then scrambling to enter an order. It still is nerve-wracking for me to watch a name move down or up to my bid, and worry about getting filled then it blowing past that price. However, setting these orders up helps me plan my entries and exit levels with strong RR. It's okay to take on uncomfortable positions because those can help you grow.
On watchlist because: Up premarket due to big PT upgrade, a positive catalyst
First trade: Strong entry near VWAP, thesis quickly proved right. Broke HOD then quickly fell. I was stuck frozen watching it downtrend. Got out for a $14 profit instead of $50 because of this late exit. Next time: be quicker taking profits on a name with momentum. Avoid wishful thinking about a rebound, just exit and wait for a better entry.
Second Trade: Good RR buying a put near resistance. Stopped out but exit was timely and not delayed.
Third Trade: Best Execution here. Supply and demand zones were already established so I just had to play them right. My best ever RR, a 1:5 ratio. Risking 10 cents for a reward of 50 cents a share. Next time: Size up on an opportunity like this. Entry was fantastic, had an order ready that caught a wick up. Price was above my stop for a few seconds but I didn't panic and sell, I waited for a 1m close above the stop. That never came, it fell quick and I got out of my put near the bottom. SIZE UP ON THIS. Obviously I can see that in hindsight, but actionable advice: When your RR is 1:5, 1:10, or something crazy like that. Don't hesitate to put on more risk.
Fourth Trade: Put at resistance, got a weirdly fantastic fill bc of computer algo error or theta shift, mostly just luck. This gave me some wiggle room. Thesis was proved wrong and I got out for breakeven when it should have been a loss. Lesson Learned: Set orders for price to move towards, you may get a lucky fill and this can help you start green.
