2:1 RR trade on AMD, caught my interest because it showed relative weakness and had been rejecting VWAP.
The 1m chart on Tradervue doesn't do it justice because I entered short at about $78.20 and took profits around $77.80.
Strong entry and exit as a result of setting orders and letting them get filled as price approaches them.
Got out right before a powerful uptrend. I had the presence of mind to consider getting in long after my exit but decided not to becuase of the recent VWAP rejection. However, since this name did make a higher high on the 1m, getting in long is something I should've considered. I've improved recently on getting out of a position then staying open minded to getting in the opposite way of how I just traded it, whether short or long. The trader I was 1 or 2 months ago would've exited then just watched price action, hoping his exit appropriately bottom or top-ticked the chart.
Staying alert and wanting to make wise decisions, not just be right, is a big part of letting go of my ego and trading at the next level.
Lesson Learned: Look at multiple factors to decide whether a reentry is appropriate. For example, examine moving averages (is this name moving up or down at the pace it was earlier in the day?), Lows and highs on a small time frame (Is this name making higher highs and higher lows or lower highs and lower lows?), and tape reading (Is there a change in character on this name based on how certain price levels are treated?)
