This was a really weird trade. I identified it as a trade pre market hovering at 1.96 to 1.99. The fees on Centerpoint was 4.2/100...so I wanted to get it above 2.00 just to cover the fees. At the open it dumped.

I was watching it and saw it stop right at the SMA (and it was getting close to where it closed yesterday). I thought it would make a bounce. So I got on my Webull account I screw around with and put in an order. I put in a big price gap of 10 cents to make it like a market order, but by the time I hit enter, it had jumped one cent past my order and I never got it. Within a minute it went from 1.70 to 2.40 (I had my order in at 1.80 when it was at 1.71).

So then I was like, OK, now it meets my criteria for the original short. I can jump in now with a smaller stop and see how it plays out. I had to locate shares on Centerpoint and enter the trade. By the time I did it, my market order filled at 1.99, which was where I was originally looking at it and didn't really want it.

It went down to 1.90 and then in to the 1.80s. I got out. I didn't really want the trade at 1.99, and if it turned on me (which it didn't the rest of the day) I would have super annoyed with the loss. I'm learning not to let the normal losses that are from good trades in the trading plan bother me, but this one would have bothered me. So I got out with a small gain, it covered my fees plus a little and had peace about it.

This was another reminder though: When you make mistakes, sometimes you'll make a little money...but more often you'll lose and you lose much more from the mistakes than you gain.
