56.87M float/15.30% short of float/99% held by institutionals
Catalyst: technical/breakdown from consolidation on the daily + earnings miss.
Stop 17.11$
R: -1
I like the trade idea, although I lost on the trade. Earnings miss - > gap -> tight consolidation for a couple of days -> opens below range during premarket.
Opened the position via ORB and it held 17.00s pretty well.
Mistake: I could have closed the trade way earlier. The .96s were holding up size, but nobody wanted to take the offer. It ticked down again on size, .90s sponge, then .89s sponge. This went on for a little while and because nothing ever really happened on the bid, I sensed a flush as soon as the buyer disapeared.
HOWEVER! ...and this was my mistake...after 17.00s traded and "flushed" back to .89s, the dude was bidding for 3k @ .92, got hammered, reloaded 3k @ .93, got hammered, again 3k, this time at .95 ...got hammered.
At this point in time I should have realized, that someone was playing a game and wanted to pull the stops. He could have easily gotten lower prices for his short cover. Instead of freezing like a deer in the headlights, I should have reversed my position at 17.00s with a 5ct stop, as soon as everyone was bashing the offers for the first time today. Or at least I could have covered....stupid.
EDIT: Look at the daily...huge volume support here.
