I tried the same trade two-days ago but then ROKU failed to hold prices, put a HOD=$242 and rolled over below the all-important daily resistance level R1=$238.4.
On main watch for today, as it perked up premarket and moved towards R1=$348.4 once again.
Premarket plan very simple, wait for it to clear and hold above R1, enter "long" risking LOD, target $245+, maybe even R2=$248-249 area. R3=ATHs=$256.
Played wayyy better than expected and such a strong move kind of caught me by surprise. Strong opening drive out of the gates breaking above R1,
immediately placed a bid in-front of R1=$238.4 that got hit risking LOD=$235s, added through HOD once it resolved the bull-flag tightening stop below VWAP, expecting $245+.
Sold small in-front of two-days ago HOD=$242, small in-front of $245 as tape remained super-strong and I thought R2=$249 easyy. Sold more in-front of R2, and I started thinking where I could reload.
I placed some bids at $242-245 area but none of which got filled. Didn't want to chase higher.
Nice consolidation below R2 as long as it took for the 9EMA@15min to play catch up with price, and 2nd leg higher just shy of R3=ATHs=$256. Sold more in-front of R3, and decided to hold remaining size as a swing despite the 3rd leg and new ATHs.
(-) Could have added for the "Indy-Long" setup once it held VWAP & 9EMA@15min to the penny, and moved back to R2. Very strong tape.
Nice $5 opening pop. Closed it. Will revisit lower (hopefully $250 area) to get back in.
