LOL this is exactly how NOT to trade a parabolic gap up. Fell for every trap/shorted every relative low and oversized so that a snap back squeezed me enough to have to puke into lower highs. Total amateur hour. Yes i knew $170s would be a gift on a day 4 monster gap up. But i also knew that MRNA whips around and likes to set traps. So what i shoulda done was taken a big picture approach to it: short 50-100 shares mid $170s and use a 10 point stop to let the first 15-30mins play out, then react accordingly (ie short on a breakdown signal and move stop down to logical spot). In this case the short signal was at 10:00 (which i happen to short) with a stop of $175.01 or a 5min close above vwap since the prev 3 5 min candles wicked off vwap. But i had already chopped myself up so badly that i didnt have the risk to give it to the appropriate level. Missing the $167 to $135 move and eventually $130 is depressing. This setup was an absolute gift from the trading gods and i shit my pants. Pathetic. Must trade the next parabolic gap up with small size and wide stop to avoid the first 15min whip. BE BETTER ffs.
