Missed the good entry per "Technical Reversal" pattern:
- 30min reversal candle (shooting star) at R2=asc. resistance line=$368
- EMAs@1min chart crossing each other
so after the flush below VWAP got short filler size at the bounce to VWAP, risking R2=HOD=$368 to the penny, added another half-tier after the lower high, expecting the sell-off to yesterday's close $366.75s at a minimum. Ultimate target was S1=$365 on this one.
Tape was not confirming, algos were playing games, and I have already watched that movie many times. HOD attempt was coming. No need to stay with it and play with the algos, esp. during lunch session. Closed it at b/e and I went for a walk.
Lol action at the final hr, but when I saw the rejection at R2, couldn't resist a small short.
Got short Tier 0, risking HOD=$368.2 to the penny (40c!), expecting a close at yesterday's close=$366.75.
Covered small at VWAP, bulk at the flush below LOD, reshorted some at the retracement to VWAP + yesterday's close, risking above the m.average, covered most at LOD.
Held tiny size risking ATHs=$368.2 as a swing. Low commitment here.
(-) In this type of market, grinding higher each day, climbing wall of worry, DO NOT PRESS SHORT. ALWAYS SHORT THE EXTENTION TO DEFINED RESISTANCE LEVELS OR AVOID AT ALL. When trade changes and time for pressing short comes, it would be obvious...
I was holding a small overnight short after yesterday's flush before close, and since I did have good avg. price near R1=ATHs=$368.2. I would like a small gap-down to cover premarket but no such luck. SPY held prices near R1 really well after the Friday jobs report.
Opened strong, and rallied to R1.
Added small at the morning pop towards R1=$368.2, risking very tight stop for the whole position above R1=$368.2, expecting a rejection at R1, break below VWAP and a move lower.
Stopped out quickly per plan.
(-) Second short attempt right in-front of support (=break and hold above R1=previous resistance) was clearly donation. No thesis, no legit pattern whatosever. Just stubborness.
