Attempted round number intraday breakdown at $19.00. This failed as APKT was very strong due to rumors of being bought out by Cisco. These trades don't seem to work very well so I have eliminated them from my trading arsenal. Intraday-only plays should only be taken in stocks that are in extreme areas (high volume, high gain, PR, earnings, etc). APKT had that the day before but on this day there was no reason for it to fall as it was just consolidating the previous day's move.
Execution detail:
Date/time | Symbol | Side | Price | Position |
---|---|---|---|---|
2012-08-30 10:51:42 | APKT | sell | $18.950 | short |
2012-08-30 11:00:48 | APKT | buy | $19.120 | 0 |
Ah great point on that early morning dip. I need to be on the lookout for that. Same thing w/ early morning spikes being sold off and then trying to go long. Thanks for the comment!
