I will always remember this trade. This trade marks a turning point in my trading journey.

I am entering this trade a few days after it took place. The trade was on a Friday and I had a long, hard important talk with myself about it last weekend.

I put in for locates and while I did the price dropped. I still wanted in the trade, but if I went all in, I would be too large a position for my adjusted stop. There was a little pop and I went all in. The stop was supposed to be 15.25...I'll always remember that price point. I didn't want to give up a few extra dollars so I cut the stop to 15.11.

I was up on the stock early, then it turned around at about 11. Instead of a nice winner, it stopped out. I was a little frustrated but it happens. I turned it off.

The next day I went to see how the trade played out. The stock went to 15.18 or 15.19 and then went down ALL day to 8.56. It was a regular loss, but it should have been a huge winner. The problem? I moved my stop.

I keep doing it...I move stops, get out early, etc.... I am committed as of today to let it ride and play out regardless of what I "think"...because my thinking is usually wrong. That is just reality. I would be up for the month instead of flat if I had stuck to the plan. Early outs earlier in the week hurt...then this where I moved the stop to save a little month...so ridiculous.

The reality is that a penny can make the difference between hundreds or even thousands of dollars (at my level...could be much more or less depending on what you are trading). For me that is a huge deal.

This is a turning point. I'm marking it in my trading journal. I am consistently profitable trading, but I really want to take it to the next level. I was consistently profitable when I was cooking fries at BK as a kid too! Just being profitable isn't what we want. Time to take it to the next level.
