2/2/2021 - PETS was an after ER dump play. I decided buy 4 Feb 19 30c Calls for 146$ per contract. Underlining price was $29.32. My original target for PETS was $32.50 underlining price. I think this was a good PT, because I wasn't going for super high percentile win, but just a simple 15% - 30% Gainer since it was down so much after ER. Rsi was way oversold and earning looked positive. After charting a few resistance levels, I began my wait.
The first couple of days, PETS did not really move, but I had it at a long over $30.75. On Friday EOD, it broke above that level, and this is my bullish argument. On Monday My contracts were up $65 per contract, at 44% gains. I decided to close 3 of the contracts and 9:36am, just to follow the plan. The last contract was suppose to be a runner in case the stock continued to run. Unfortunately, due to my impatience, I ended up selling my last contract at 10:08 am for $253, at 73% gains. I was really happy with the trade at that point, because I was up. Of course as you see on the chart, PETS ran to $57 two days after. Contract as high as $2100 per contract or 1433%.
PETS 1HR chart
Things I can improve on:
1. Holding the 1 runner after I scale down.
2. Perhaps also buying shares, since I banked on Options, I could have used that as buffer for shares.
3. Let the trade work for me, there was a bunch of upside in the ticker, there was no need to get greedy and get my profit.
4. Hold Longer.
