Good ol' CTXR. The paid pumper for multiple years. Lots of new lessons from an old buddy stock. I decided to take CTXR as it was the only one enticing in my scanner so early in the morning. It somehow started spiking like crazy and I just decided to add into the super early morning spike. Eventually it just faded. It now was at year highs. This market is just so incredible. This stock has been doing absolutely nothing for 2 years but pumping out paid mailers weekly and moving on nothing, and now after an offering and up on nothing, it just keeps going. It was ok as a pre market fader, but this thing did not want to fade in the regular hours and just kept going. What's weird in this market is that offerings are bullish now. Insane! I can't short stocks that have had offerings while the market behaves like this. At least in the regular hours. For now, no fading stocks with offerings unless it's a former pump and dump or the offering price was really bad. Also I have to scale out way earlier. 5am I begin scaling out and 6am I'm completely out AT THE LATEST. No more sticking around for the premarket. This strategy is so damn good, I don't need to be messing around and overstaying my welcome. Size in bigger with confirmation and just get the hell out (not for CTXR, other stocks in general in the premarket)

What's currently your entry and exit plan? I compare different methods via excel and backtest to see how effective they are.

Thanks! For CTXR I played it well. I have been shorting this one regularly for about 2 years so I had a good rythm with it. For pre-market it behaved just how I anticipated. Spiked early premarket and fade with bigger drop around 4am-7am est as more brokers open at that time. However, I carried a position into the open and that was a no-no. I lost a chunk of my profits because of that. These days with the crazy market, some junk stocks like ESPECIALLY CTXR are now flying on year highs.... and crazy, they just did an offering! I'm looking to just watch this one for now. I did not like what it did during the regular hours at all.
In fact, it was good that I cut it because it would have wiped out most of my gains if I held. On top of that, if I held it over the weekend it would have sucked! The main lesson here is that these pre market faders once out of 10 times can flip around and go up during the regular hours. The plan is to fade them and be out ideally 45 minutes before the market open and wait until the first 30-45 minutes after the open to reshort and to be aware if it breaks the morning highs. If it breaks the morning highs, you get out completely.

great trade! It looked nice to get into but working with IBKR lite, I had to wait until 7am to get into it and by that point the risk:reward wasn't there for me. Thanks to you, I switched over to Pro so I'll be able to catch these earlier moves now.
