This was an OK trade until I didn't cover when the trend broke... stupid ass decision.
This is the second time I've ever shorted and I really screwed up. It wasn't great executions, to begin with, but I was still profitable until I held onto the position after the trend broke. I had a bias that made me believe it would fade to the low 80s. Instead of just trading the chart I traded hope. Additionally, I was stressed trying to do work at my day job and on a troubleshoot conference call so I should have closed my position if I couldn't focus.
Lessons:
- Risk correctly.
- Don't add to winners because of greed.
- NEVER hold on and hope when the trend is broken.

Nice! Question. How do you complete a short? I tried doing it today and had some trouble.
i used a TradeZero account. located the shares then Shorted them when i felt the setup was right.
Oh ok. Great job. I'm using E-Trade so still learning on how to use their platform as well.
You need to log into your Tradervue account to leave a comment. If you don't have one,

just a few seconds to sign up, and it's free!
2nd short I have ever done. The first one was profitable. This one had an unrealized profit of 300+ then I let go against me. Just a dumb decision to hold on to a bias instead of just trading the chart. Newbie screwup.
