TSLA is one of those tickers, That I learned to really like and dislike trading. It showed me the flaws of my risk-tolerance and thought me the beauty of the hold.
My first try on TSLA was 2 shares at $744. on 2/22/2021. I thought it was a wonderful deal at that price, but only started small. Attempting to size in if it dropped further. When I tell you it dropped, it DROPPED. 100$/per share on the next day. MY EMOTIONS WERE UNREAL, never experiencing this I stared at the screen in disbelief, but I also understood the truth about TSLA. I know that everyone has been saying it, but TSLA has big moves, and if one is able to capitalize on those moves well, they can make a lot of bank! Unfortunately, I am not ready yet, with my account under PDT, I still lack the resources to really day trade, thus swinging TSLA showed me to better attempt the art of controlling my emotions and being disciplined.
That very next day I bought 2 more shares at $637.97 This helped me bring done my average. The next day its back at 740s, I feel like a legend, the winner, the number 1. But, I made a grave error that day. I didn't get out. Thinking I had a really good entry, I failed to realize that I was in a scalper paradise, TSLA was in a position to actually make me some money if I just had conviction and day trading rights.
Unfortunately, I didn't have that wisdom at the time, but fortunately, I decided to sell 2 shares at $717. I wanted to keep 2 shares so that I can remember to look at the ticker.
I bought 2 shares again at 638, and didnt even add at 539!!! like bro, I should have added, why didn't I is beyond me. I know why though, because I was afraid of buying it. That's a learning lesson. This is one of those trades. I scaled out the rest of TSLA and am now holding only 1 share.
