The mobile future is a combination of Apple, Samsung, and Microsoft. Qualcomm is a key supplier to all three. Even Microsoft is experimenting with non x86 chips and selling more phones and tablets.
Furthermore, if I had to bet on a winner it would be Samsung which has remarkably upped the game in its latest devices. Samsung keeps trying to build all chips in house, but qcom is still maintaining a decent lead and Samsung keeps buying qcom chips....
Qcom is in a position to win and play off each customer against each other. A shortage of chips makes customers more dependent. Qcom still does need to do better on solidifying manufacturing- too much outsourced.
Recent drops in stock price due to Sector rebalancing makes a good entry for a extended duration option play.
