Setup was a simple bear flag and also vwap rejection.

$Aapl remained under the vwap all day and when it tried to get back over it and failed I shorted with a stop right above the vwap. My entry was 123.70 and the vwap was only .10 cents above so my risk was small allowing me to take a larger position and still maintain my maximum risk of $50 dollars.

This was a tricky trade that if I hadn't had my eye on the $spy it may have gone badly. Incorporating the overall market ($Spy) into my trading plan so that my trades are almost always in the same direction as the overall trend is becoming more and more important. One of the things I like about apple is how similar it moves to the market. Also I've realized how key it is to have hours and hours watching tickers move to build the experience of knowing how to time a trade in terms of speed. When $spy is nearing it's 200 Dma on the daily than I know I have to make this a quick short and take profits quickly, scaling out along the way to lock in gains.

I'm not taking more than one trade a day right now because I see myself as a baby in trading years and to get even one good trade is a high enough goal for now. This is giving me time to focus in on it and analyze it as deeply as possible. I was telling some bootcamp buddies yesterday that I feel like I've finally made some progress from where I started because when I started I was trading quantity without the quality, now I am focused on the quality of my trades instead of the quantity and they are finally improving.

Another take away from today was that it is possible to have a .10 cent stop on a 5 dollar stock, but it is also possible to have a .10 cent stop on a 120 dollar stock. I know you may think that is obvious but I was going with the general assumption that having a tight stop on a 100 dollar stock meant scaling up and may mean a .50 cent stop is still tight. That is not necessarily the case, today showed me it is possible to be super picky and wait for an entry that is only .03 cents on a 2 dollar stock, just like it is possible to have a .10 stop on a hundred dollar stock. I just need to stay focused on quality not quantity and carry these lessons over when I go live.
