DOCU had a really strong earnings beat. The estimate was .11 loos per share and the results were .44 positve, so really strong beat. This means expectations were far from actual performance and likely there would be institutional buyers who had underestimated the stock and now wanted to buy. Several analysts adjusted their price targets, most of which were in the upper 200's. I expected a strong showing from DOCU today and was just looking for confirmation to get long.

I was hoping for a dip and rip situation and I had bids in before the open at 205 and 202.50. The first move was up and none of those bids got hit. Instead, I started scaling in, 10 shares at a time. This is not something I normally do, but it was safer than chasing with a full position and getting stopped out. Definitely I was more aggressive than normal on this trade, but I could see it moving to higher prices.

My stop was almost hit at 212.50 area. It would have been a pretty significant hit given where I started buying at, but I did have the stop in and it held.

Definitely I started scaling out too fast. My first sales were right where my first buys were and I was out 50% at less than a dollar higher. The rest of the sales are much better as I started selling in smaller bits. Final sales were because I had to go to work and despite thinking there could be more upside, wanted to call it a day.
