AAPL had used 1h Demand at 133.34

I was watching for the reaction to this 1-hour demand zone, which had been used 1 day before my entry. The zone formed 2 days before my entry.

Price broke under this level to form a LOD at 1:19. That 1m candle had abnormal volume, with 470,000 shares traded compared to 150,000 the minute before. This was the 3rd highest volume from a 1m candle all day. That was significant given that the market had been open for almost 240 minutes and high volume isn't usually done at this time.

After the volume spike at 1:19, I was waiting for the move out of demand. I wasn't looking to buy until price held over 133.40. That level acted as old support around 1:00 and 1:12.

It tried to break above that level at 1:24 but couldn't hold it so I didn't enter. The 1:26 candle closed over it and I entered with a 3:1 RR when the 1:27 candle held there for a while.

It quickly reversed on me after my entry but didn't sell off hard. I stuck to my plan which was the right decision.

At 1:32 I wrote: "Not liking consolidation, will exit soon if no uptrend comes. I don't like holding through consolidation bc this name has been making lower highs and lower lows all day. I really want to see volume come in."

After that AAPL began a slow rise up, not moving up with any kind of interesting volume or large green candles but not pulling back hard on pullbacks.

At 1:38 I got out at the top of a consolidation period because I had to leave home to pick up my Dad from the airport. This ticker kept on slowly grinding up.

Lesson Learned: Volume spikes present great opportunities to size up as they indicate that a reversal is more likely than before now that sentiment has shifted. Size up after volume spikes near an SD zone as soon as a little bit of confirmation is evident.
