Scanned and saw this stock. Saw that the MA's were curling over. When it popped right below I shorted and set stop right above. Kept watching this one and had no real reason to sell because it just kept going. Kept moving my stop down. Scaled out a little and then got out completely around lunch time. I really liked this trade! It was super easy and didn't give me any headaches!

Hey Christy I'm curious on how you saw this on your scan, what was your parameter in a nutshell? Your scan was intraday or on the daily?

Thanks

I scan through Finviz and on the Technical tab I choose "change" and I always put either up 4% or down 5%. Then I start scrolling through charts and I also look at them through ToS. You can have other perimeters as well. I do them intraday but I always pull up the daily charts as well to align on multiple time frames.

So basically It went up 4-5% and you notice it was going under the moving average and you shorted? Is that technique of shorting below moving average worked well for you so far?

Well I saw on the daily chart that it was in a down trend so I watched it for a little while to see if it was going to go short again. When the moving averages curled above, the volume bars turned red and the candle popped under the moving averages I knew it wasn't going to bounce to the upside so I took the short. All the things came together to short and I took the risk. I could use the moving average as my stop should it not go. Yes, this type of shorting has worked well for me but I try to make a case before I short.

Just make sure that you make your case each and every time. It's like the perfect storm.
