Took this as a 5' bar break short, but should have known because I think ADH teaches specifically that this type of bar break is not ideal ... straight up, then straight down with no consolidation ... and I should have known that myself anyway. Eventually the short did take off and I got back in for a small R/R gain. After it pulled back and based I tried to add on a break down but then a short squeeze happened and it took off to the upside as the trend changed.
Pros:
- 27 figure at back on initial and second entry
- breakdown gap = momentum downward
- 20ma agrees
Cons:
- bad R/R at half figure below
- third entry was right over half figure = less likely to work
- volatility had dried up by 1st target
