ZM reports after the bell and I had my eye on it. I was very quick to identify the trend off the open and took a position at just the right spot and with the right amount of risk.
ZM has been in a longterm downtrend coming into earnings. Off the open it started selling and I was looking for a VWAP retracement to get short. I got that 4 minutes after the open, and it happened to be right around the 250 psychological level, which was another factor in my favor. I had a $1 stop on the trade.
The trade quickly started to work and I was taking off some risk about $1 into the money. I continued to cover as price moved lower. I missed a couple golden opportunities to add back to my position, but I also made a couple of them. Overall, these trades added to my PnL. I had an arbitrary target of $10, which I made with my best cover. That was more than an ATR. Even though I hadn't yet seen a capitulation move, I had such a small position and I have to be done for the day that I just closed there.
