DOCU reported disappointing earnings the prior day. Being a growth stock and only having a 3% growth rate really punished the stock. It was also being punished in sympathy with the market.
DOCU had retraced to VWAP. It had spent no time above it all day and looked to be a good trend continuation short. I took a position risking a move over VWAP. My ultimate target was the LOD, though I should have taken into account more that this stock could finish LOD and trend into a second day.
As DOCU broke the uptrend line it had made I added a momentum lot that I began taking off pretty quickly. DOCU consolidated for a long time and I sold the top and bought the bottom at least once. I kept a core for quite some time, but closed a lot when I had to leave the desk.
I had to leave my trading setup and go to work halfway through this trade. I was only able to use my phone to trade and it limited my ability to get good exits. I also missed a big portion of the move when it took out the prior LOD and trended much lower.
