MRNA Trade on Dec 13, 2021 11:10 from JRockTrades: Tradervue User Stock Trades.

Big Picture:

SPY:

SPY has been moving steadily higher, but recently has been volatile. It opened near the highs but sold into the close. VIX was below 20 at the open, but increasing modestly through the day.

MRNA:

Covid concerns continue to be prevalent, though the severity is continuously changing. As a result MRNA has been back and forth across a broad range of prices. It has a very large ATR, averaging just under 30 points for the previous 10 days. The previous day it had run up from 235 and had topped out near 275 before pulling back into where this trade takes place. On this day it had below average volume and no news which would make it in-play.

Trade Management

I was watching as MRNA pulled into VWAP and dropped it. It peaked back over but couldn't hold. I took a starter short. I was able to get off a couple shares before getting stopped out at break even. I should have given it a little more room to work, but still rusty on my executions in DAS.

As MRNA broke it's 2-day uptrend I took a second short. To be honest, this is probably a B trade but I was trading small and practicing executions. I got some more shares off before MRNA reversed and took out my trailing stop.

Trade Review

This was my only trade on the day and only a mediocore one, but completely executed in DAS. I'm super new to it and need the practice executions with relatively little risk. In that sense this trade was successful.
