ok overall today was a lower volume day atleast in the early part of the day.
slower choppy moves.
this Monday market is closed and it is a HOLIDAY. MLK JR Holiday.
I was a bit bias and been loving PUTS but the market at the open did wind up have a small run up. afterall in the evening overnight session we did have a nice sell off.
i did note that we were not able to even reach anywhere close to the previous day HIGHS and spx began to struggle at the 4660 key level zone area
Trade#1- had a trendline drawn it appeared SPX was trying to break the uptrend at 4660 but it had a decent support at 4650. SPX kept bouncing between these areas and eventually rejected 4660 broke through 4650 and i was able to exit with a small win. I did not like this area as it was choppy and congested. no clear solid movement and not worth a play but i managed the trade well.
Trade#2- at this point i was watching the 4640 area as SPX moved away from 4650 and i also saw spy broke the vwap and was under vwap and 9ema. i got in and was anticipating a play to 4624 which was LOD and a key bounce area. eventually it got there and i was able to sell for a profit. i stuck to holding this as i saw overall major level 4660 was rejected and headed to 4624 major level and LOD.
SPY eventually gave us a triple bottom and went to break High of Day (HOD).
Today required alot of patience. but i noticed when i held and the zones were identified and the trendlines on my chart it played out well.
because the market was in range it wasnt that easy to catch a nice premium spike.
we need momentum and volume and clear direction for options to be spiking in premium.
i had to realize that and grab my smaller moves.
