Entry: bought on a flat top after the gap

Result: Stopped out. I should have measured the rise to that point and realized just how extended it was at this point. The greater move happened during the overnight gap on oil. It seems like a tough call here because buying at the bottom of the range would have me concerned it would drop to the downside. I need more experience and stay out of things like this. I need to consider my rule of only buying in the bottom of a range with a good reason.
