First day sizing up

Looking for an elastic band trade. The ES dipped below the 2% and then proceeded to reject the -1. After a short consolidation I entered a short at the 55.75 and was taken out almost immediately. I think what I had wrong was my read on the positioning of this market in that moment. The -1 was cleared but settlement was right above. That would have been a better trade.
