This morning, I saw that the overall pre-market was green - Not too much, but just slightly. Jerome Powell was speaking at 10 am on this day, so I had this in mind. At the open, the first 2 min candle on SPY turned green then rejected down and touched the VWAP. As it came down, I entered a SPX call. The next candle quickly turned green and bounced on the VWAP. I set my sell limit for a $300, but I changed it to $260 when I saw slight rejection on that 2 min candle. I wanted to get out of this quick because I entered very very soon at the open! Also, theta hurts!! This was a very quick trade/scalp, if I held any longer, that same second 2 min candle that was green rejected down to VWAP again. I would have been down for a little before having a chance to sell at breakeven or profit. As I was watching the price of my contract after I sold, I saw the pain of theta. Overall, quick and nice trade but I have to remember that when I take trades at the open, I have to be quick and smart. These trades can go wrong fast as I have witnessed on previous days. I am either right or wrong. Do not "bag" hold, wishing to be right.
