This trade had both great and terrible elements in it. First the great. I planned this trade last night, my trading plan can be found
Now for the bad, I failed to take profits on the way up. I always need to sell into strength, even if it's 100 shs or 200 shs. This doesn't mean to get flat or move my stop up, this just means I have a large enough position where I can make positive cash flow while I let my bigger picture trade idea play out.
Yes the market turned and GMCR got slaughtered causing me to get out of the trade, but that's an uncontrollable event and it's part of trading. Had I taken profits on the way up, that moved wouldn't have bothered me at all because I would have made the trades.
